Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is the non-evasive inspection of components to confirm compliance to relevant standards.  There are many techniques available to achieve results.  Our methods of NDT include Visual, Dye Penetrant,  Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current and Radiography Inspections.

What is Destructive Testing?

 

Destructive testing or mechanical testing is conducted on a component which is welded using the process to be used on the job.  The component is then destroyed in accordance with the relevant standard.  M-Test Mackay carries out destructive/mechanical testing for welding procedure qualifications.  This covers bend test, macro inspections, nick break test, tensile test, charpy test and where required for fracture analysis.

Who is NATA?

 

NATA is the authority that provides independent assurance of technical competence.  Through internal audits on our business, NATA ensures the work we carry out maintains quality, professionalism and compliance to all relevant Australian and International Standards.  Our accreditations through NATA are your assurance of quality.

Who is AINDT?

 

AINDT is the national certification body for NDT personnel Australia wide.  They provide certification in accordance with AS3998/ISO9712 as well as CM personnel providing certification in accordance with ISO18436.
